  • Condition: This offering is for an antique circa 1880's stereoview card photo of a group of 12 Native American Indians. The image is identified in the negative simply as "103. GROUP SIOUX". The makers markings on the mount read in part "NEW EDUCATIONAL SERIES STEREOSCOPIC VIEWS AMERICAN AND FOREIGN VIEWS SOLD ONLY BY CANVASSERS". The original image was taken by F. J. Haynes at Standing Rock Agency in 1881. The gents in the image we Sub Chiefs of Sitting Bull and are believed to include Gall, Crawler, Crow King, Running Antelope and Rain in the Face. The sepia tone image is typically a little on the weak side but is still easily viewable. There are no folds, creases, bends or tears.
