Beautiful vintage Japanese carved wood Noh Theater Mask I was told portrays a young woman called Ko-Omote.
Noh is a major form of classical Japanese musical drama that has been performed for centuries.
This traditional Japanese wooden mask is hand carved and hand painted into a lovely wood face mask with a cheerful expression.  It does not have any hanging cord but you can easily add your own style.
-Purchased in Japan at a shrine flea market 35+ years ago when I lived in Japan, I was told it was 1930s-1940s.
-This wooden mask is in vintage used condition, likely 60-80 years old (please see photos) with a couple small marks consistent with age and use.  It measures about 8.5” tall x 5.25” wide x 2.5” deep.
